Warehouse Manager - Dublin

We are recruiting a Warehouse Manager for our Dublin Distribution Centre and Ballymount branch.

Role Purpose:

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall management of warehouse operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective receipt, storage, order picking, and dispatch of goods. The role leads and develops the warehouse team, drives continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with health and safety, quality, and company policies.

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, and dispatched accurately and on time.
• Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse supervisors, team leads, general operatives, including training, performance management, and rota planning.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, conducting risk assessments and toolbox talks, and promoting a strong safety culture.
• Monitor, manage & assist with stock accuracy, including regular stock takes, cycle counts, and investigation of discrepancies.
• Plan and manage warehouse resources, including labour, equipment, and space utilisation, to meet operational demand.
• Set, monitor, and report on KPIs covering productivity, accuracy, cost, and service levels.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer service.
• Ensure all equipment in the warehouse (including reach trucks and forklifts) are maintained and safe to use.
• Manage relationships with transport providers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, licensing, and audit requirements.
• Prepare and manage the warehouse operating budget, controlling costs within agreed targets.
• Handle escalated operational issues, customer complaints, and disciplinary matters as required.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a warehouse or distribution management role, ideally within a similar industry.
• Strong track record of leading and developing teams in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Solid understanding of health and safety legislation and warehouse operating procedures.
• Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
• Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
• Good commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and KPIs.
• A relevant management or logistics qualifications is desirable.
• Flexibility to work shifts and be available to support out-of-hours operational needs.

Physical Requirements:

• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
• Fully Able to assist on the warehouse floor for extended periods.

Occasional manual handling in line with company guidelines.

Health & Safety:

The Warehouse Operations Manager holds overall responsibility for health and safety within the warehouse, ensuring policies and procedures are followed, PPE is worn correctly, and all hazards, near-misses, or incidents are reported and investigated promptly.
