As the Hub Manager, You’ll be responsible for:

  • Ensuring accurate, on-time fulfilment and dispatch of orders to meet branch/customer SLAs and KPIs
  • Managing daily hub operations: workload planning, resource allocation and shift coordination to optimise throughput and on-time despatch
  • Leading, coaching and developing warehouse teams (picking, packing, despatch and admin) to drive productivity, quality and engagement
  • Maintaining inventory control and stock accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliation and investigation of variances
  • Coordinating final‑mile delivery with drivers/transport partners, including delivery window adherence and route effectiveness
  • Enforcing health, safety and regulatory compliance (safe systems of work, incident reporting and housekeeping standards)
  • Driving continuous improvement to reduce cost, cut lead times, improve first-time fulfilment and eliminate waste
  • Building strong relationships with branch managers and commercial teams to align priorities, communicate issues and support demand planning
  • Monitoring performance through MI and KPIs, producing reports and using data to identify trends and corrective actions
  • Controlling operating costs (labour, transport, consumables) and supporting budget management
  • Overseeing goods-in processes, quality checks and returns handling to protect service levels and stock integrity (using M3)
  • Supporting peak planning and ad hoc projects (temporary resourcing, layout/process changes)
  • Managing suppliers/contractors (transport, equipment maintenance, agency labour)

What we hope you can bring:

  • Proven experience managing warehouse/hub operations within wholesale, distribution or logistics environments
  • Strong working knowledge of pick/pack/despatch, goods-in/out and returns processes
  • Track record in inventory control, cycle counting and discrepancy investigation
  • Experience coordinating with transport/final‑mile delivery to meet customer and branch service levels
  • Confident people leadership: shift management, coaching, performance management and team engagement
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using MI/KPI data to drive root-cause actions and continuous improvement
  • Excellent stakeholder management across operations, commercial and branch networks
  • Comfortable working with warehouse/system tools

Company Description

We’re looking for an experienced Hub Manager to run our newly set up Warehouse based in Watford, that supports our branch network. 

You’ll ensure accurate, timely fulfilment and final‑mile delivery of customer orders, leading a multi‑disciplinary warehouse & Transport team to consistently achieve service KPIs, maintain excellent stock accuracy, and uphold the highest standards of health, safety and compliance.

This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on performance, continuous improvement and cost efficiency.
