Data confidentiality is the foundation of our trust-based relationship. That's why we take the protection of your personal data seriously.

The present policy is communicated to you so that you can take note of our commitments in terms of personal data protection.

This privacy policy also informs you of your rights and the conditions under which your personal data is collected, processed, stored, and archived.

Who are we?

The relevant entity you applied for as referenced in the job description is the Data Controller (“Rexel”, “we” or “us”), i.e., the entity that determines the purposes and means of processing your personal data.

How do we handle your information during the recruitment process?

At the time we collect your personal data, we will clearly indicate whether providing it is mandatory (for example, by using an asterisk on the form). If you choose not to provide the required information, we may be unable to send you job offers or properly process your application.

Is an automated decision made in the context of this processing?

We use an AI assistant to analyze and evaluate applicants’ profiles during the recruitment process. Please note that no automated decisions are made by this tool in connection with the processing described in this Privacy Policy. All applications are reviewed by a recruiter to ensure a fair and thorough assessment.

Who will receive your data?

The personal data we collect, as well as those collected subsequently, are processed by us in our role as data controller.

We ensure that only authorized persons have access to this data. In particular, it is shared with Human Resources Department employees and the people involved in your interview or recruitment process (including your future line manager).

Our service providers may receive this data to perform the services we assign to them. We may also disclose personal data to third parties or legally authorized authorities to meet our legal, regulatory or contractual obligations.

To facilitate recruitment, we use:

  • Provider of the online platform: SmartRecruiters
  • Provider of personality tests
  • Recruitment agencies.

These service provider act on our instructions and are bound by appropriate contractual and security obligations. Some of our service providers are located outside the UK and European Economic Area (EEA). In the event of international transfers, we ensure that these transfers are secure and subject to appropriate safeguards by signing Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission.

Your personal data may also be shared with Rexel Développement, acting as a data processor on behalf of its affiliates, to provide support services related to recruitment. These activities are conducted based on our legitimate interest and are governed by appropriate intra-group agreements to ensure compliance with data protection laws and to safeguard your rights.

What are your rights?

In accordance with the regulations on the protection of personal data, you have the following rights:

  • right of access: you can access the information we hold about you and obtain a copy of it.
  • right of rectification: you can request that any inaccurate or incomplete data about you be rectified, completed or updated.
  • right to object: you have the right to object to the processing of you data, unless there are compelling legitimate grounds for us to do so.
  • right to erasure: you may request the deletion of your personal data within the limits of the conditions of Article 17 of the GDPR.
  • right to data portability: you can retrieve your data and transfer it to another organization or for personal use.
  • right to restrict processing.

If you do not receive a reply, or if you consider that the reply is unsatisfactory, or if you consider that the processing of your data does not comply with legal and regulatory provisions, you may contact the competent supervisory authority.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time in response to reflect changes in legal requirements, technology or business practices.
