Distribution Center Floater

We are looking for a Distribution Center Floater to join our Platt team in Sumner, WA!

Summary:
The Distribution Center Floater is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. The Distribution Center Floater is also capable of performing will call operations, wire cutting procedures, as well as pipe yard tasks. Responsible for the completeness and correctness of all distribution center transactions.

What You'll Do:

• Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment. Assume responsibility for immediately addressing safety concerns
• Unload product to be received, determine the accuracy of all incoming shipments, detect, and document all damage to product if found
• Correctly select product to be stocked from the receiving lanes through use of a wireless hand-held device
• Move product to prime/storage locations with proper equipment and efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate area as directed by the WMS
• Correctly select product to be replenished from the overstock locations through use of a wireless hand-held device
• Process and research branch returns as needed
• Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment ensuring that the correct type and quantity of product is provided
• Move, stack, and/or pack various types of merchandise for shipment
• Perform duties in all shipping, receiving, will call, wire cutting, and pipe yard positions as required
• Maintain a minimum standard in all zones in compliance with current company policies in both accuracy and productivity
• Operate narrow-aisle stand-up rider lift trucks in performance of stocking duties as required
• Perform daily machine check list and operate any material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required
• Properly use and understand all computer programs and hardware necessary for completion of the job task
• Report any damage to electronic hardware, material handling equipment at the Distribution Center immediately to a Supervisor
• Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

• 1+ years of distribution center experience
• Successful completion of training in all Zones required
• Experience in receiving and/or shipping
• Data entry experience preferred
• Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment. Training will be provided by the company
• High School or GED - Preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must be willing to be trained on all the following material handling equipment: Forklifts, stand-up reach truck, High-Reach Narrow-Aisle, Stand-Up Rider pallet Jack that conform to OSHA safety training requirements. Training will be provided by the company as needed
• Must be able to operate stand-up reach truck
• Ability to apply concepts of basic math skills to work environment
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and understand RF scanning devices
• Must have experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) software and the Web
• Ability to work overtime as needed
