Job Description

We are looking for a Wire Department Manager to Join our Rexel team located in Orlando, FL!

 

Summary:
The Wire Department Manager oversees all operations within the Wire Department ensuring efficient production, quality control, and adherence to safety standards, including, but not limited to, wire inventory and adjustments, managing inbound and outbound material, asset management (reels, machines, tools, etc.), working directly with sales associates, and managing the wire associates with continuous process improvement to meet and exceed LMD standards for the Wire Department. Primary focus is also on customer service, while balancing operational expenses. The role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of wire production processes, and the ability to manage a diverse team.

What You'll Do:

 

  • Work hours: 4:00pm-12:30pm
  • Supervise and lead a team of wire production staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and training for continuous improvement
  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily operations to ensure timely and accurate deliveries of wire orders
  • Promote a culture of safety within the department, ensuring compliance with all safety procedures and company policies
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions
  • Conduct regular wire cut audits and take action as needed
  • Prepare and present regular reports on production metrics, quality issues, and departmental performance to senior management, and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Ensure that all material is received, properly stocked, and orders are shipped on time
  • Monitor production processes and implement improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce waste, ensuring that wire department processes are followed
  • Ensure proper inventory level of wood reels
  • Ensure proper asset tracking of compartmental/reusable reels owned by the company
  • Promptly and properly handles returned goods
  • Maintain tooling within department to achieve safety and productivity metrics
  • Oversee Project Management on large orders to ensure delivery dates are met
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of experience with electrical distribution or wire/cable experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience, preferably in a warehouse setting
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Forklift, Upright, Order Picker and Pallet Jack Operation Experience
  • High School or GED - Required
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of wire manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Understanding of wire and cable
  • Understanding of general distribution center functions
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control standard
  • Ability to read, write, and compute basic to complexed math skills
  • Advanced understanding of Wire Department operations
  • Great computer skills with ability to work with Office 360 products and ERP/WMS systems
