Job Description

We are currently looking for a self-motivated individual to become an integral part of our Procurement team. The National Inventory Planner based in Montreal is responsible for managing the parameters that impact inventory. They work internally with sales, vendor relations and category managers, divisional managers and buyers as well as externally with suppliers.

Responsibilities:

  • Forecasts and provide volumes-buy information to the vendor relations team.
  • Assists in placing large bulk buy orders.
  • Performs inventory parameters optimization and sets service level policy.
  • Analyzes inventory management parameters at hub and branch levels.
  • Reviews product lifecycle and stocked offer management.
  • Reviews stock shortage analysis.
  • Identifies overstock and alerts product managers.
  • Collaborate with vendors to optimize the supply chain process.
  • Enforces proper implementation and application of company policies and procedures in general, but specifically those regarding replenishment practices.
  • Monitor inventory availability to ensure KPI targets are being met.
  • Manage inventory and procurement levels in line with annual budgets.
  • Review sale forecasts to ensure we meet customer targets.
  • Manage substitutions/supersedes in Gains.
  • Manage portal reviews in Gains.
  • Facilitates promotions as defined by the vendor managers from the divisions.
  • Manage new programs/items in Gains.
  • Supply reports and documentation to vendor managers of the divisions as required.
  • Stock file reviews with Branches (y/n, new items, A, B, C…demand changes, non-stock items.
  • Replenishment path review/Network flow optimization.
  • Surplus review and management.
  • Determine IF write-offs are required.
  • Surplus inventory analysis and inventory return in order to meet or exceed surplus inventory target. Coordinate and organize product returns in relation to vendor managers.
  • Better buy forecasts as required.

Qualifications

  • Analytical thinker – Specifically as it pertains to inventory.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Negotiation capabilities.
  • Communication skills, team spirit.
  • Excellent Excel skills (advanced level.)
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Good organizational and time management skills are an asset.
  • Bilingual in French and English 

Education/Experience

  • College diploma in an appropriate field plus a minimum of three (3) years related experience within a similar role or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in statistical and mathematical tools; inventory and forecast calculations.
  • Inventory management and replenishment concepts.
